COBA General Meeting - October 19, 2011

The Members held their yearly "Bee Dollar auction."
Business conducted at the meeting prior to the Bee Auction included the following items:

Annual Election conducted.Three two-year trustee positions were open. None of the incumbents decided to run again (Mike Hatter, Pat Chambers, and Joy Voorhees).
The following candidates ran for the position: Bill Tolliver, Shawn Rinehart, Dwight Wells, Rod Pritchard, and Scott Taylor.
In a very close election, Dwight Wells, Rod Pritchard, and Scott Taylor were elected.
COBA extends its thanks to the outgoing trustees Mike Hatter, Pat Chambers, and Joy Voorhees.

President Dana Stahlman announced to the membership that he will be running for President of OSBA (Ohio State Beekeepers Association) on November 5, and if he is elected, he plans on resigning the presidency of COBA.

The following members were recognized by Dana Stahlman as beekeepers of the month in October and November:

Mary Wampler, for her many contributions to the picnic and numerous COBA events.

Sue Hamrick, for her many contributions to the Queen Project and Bee Yard.

Pat Chambers, for her many contributions to Community Education.

Anne Hatter, for her leadership at the Lithopolis Honey Festival.

Mike Hatter announced the upcoming COBA Banquet on November 16. The Banquet is being held at Der Dutchman at 6:00 on November 16. Dinner prices are $17.00 (including tax and tip) for adults, with reduced prices for children 12 and under. Members can pay at the door on the night of the banquet. Cash or check, please.
